Can you solder electrical wires together. Hook one 90 degree bend over the other so that the wires are colinear but the bent parts point in opposite directions. You can certainly use soldering irons to join metal together for tasks other than electronics if and only if you are going to be using tin-lead solder and if the join is relatively small.
