Can you use piping tip with ziploc bag. Yes a Ziploc bag will do in a pinch but it isnt ideal and if you plan on piping regularly or even more than once a year disposable piping bags are easily found and very cheap. Place your frosting into a Ziploc bag squeeze out all the air and tightly seal it. You can also freeze your leftover frosting as well.
I like to use the zip-close on the bag and twist the top of the bag to keep pressure on the frosting as you squeeze it onto your cupcake. Once youve done this step you can fill the bag with frosting. Using cold frosting to decorate can be difficult so you want to ensure its at room temperature to make it easier to work with.
Frosting your cupcake with a homemade piping bag can be accomplished with materials you already have in your kitchen a Ziploc bag and Duck tape. Once youve filled the bag squeeze out any excess air and then seal the top. They are super easy and quick making them ideal if you need to frost a large number of cupcakes with buttercream.
You need a gallon-size Ziploc bag duct tape and scissors. Using scissors trim off the tip of the pastry bag along the line you marked. If youre out of piping bags then you can use a plastic Ziploc bag.
