I Smell Bleach In My Water
I have a really deep well and I use 4 cups to get the right solution.
I smell bleach in my water. Its used for a variety of purposes including eliminating germs. Not to get into too much detail but it might just be your own body odor that has a bleachy smell. Does anyone know the best way to clean the tank or get rid of the smell.
Have filled the tank since and smell is not as bad but still lingering around. Many dishwashing detergents already contain bleach which explains why some brands make my kitchen smell like a swimming pool. This odor like public water shock chlorination should subside within 48 hours.
I have an empty gallon jug bleach container and I used it to hold water for watering my plantsI only rinsed the jug once so it still smells a little bit like bleachI just watered my plants with it without realizing itWill this kill them. Id go with double that or talk to your local well guy to ask his opinion based on your type of water. You can rest assured though because the Environmental Protection Agency EPA actually requires small levels of chlorine in your home tap water.
You should determine the right amount of bleach to use I gallon is too much. Liver or kidney disease can often make the individual have a bleach-like smell due to a build-up of toxins in the body. Most likely any bleach you add before starting the dishwasher is gone by the first rinse cycle.
I didnt smell any bleach in the water for the entire time. Your water will smell temporarily chlorine if you shock chlorinates. I think I used 5 gallons when I did mine and my well was at 116 feet at the time.
Not sure the volume of the column of water in mine or yours. How much chlorine is added. Sathan81 Feb 1 408am.
