Use OOOO steel to further break down carbon deposit and hard water spots. Soot and carbon deposits collect on the inside of the exhaust tips. Clean the exhaust pipe -Use a wheel brush and a degreaser to get inside of the exhaust pipe.

Using a cloth clean the exhaust tip then for inside the exhaust use a hard bristled brush cleaning as deep in the tail pipe as you are able to. Then you can use the acetone soaked rag to remove the residual crap. Apply inside and out exhaust tips with old toothbrush wait until its dry wipe with cloth.

Use an auto wash or exhaust cleaner inside and outside of the tips. Bug and tar remover will remove sticky residues so will goo gone. This will remove initial carbon deposit and soot.

Apply some of the metal polish directly onto the exhaust tips if you are using Autosol just squeeze some directly out of the tube onto the tip. Take the steel wool and begin to work the polish into the exhaust tip. A reasonably easy way to use this is to spray this liquid into the inside of the exhaust tips agitate it with a brush and then wiped off with a paper towel.

This is also very simple because it is a passive cleaning method that you can take advantage of. With a car wash solution or a cleaner specifically designed for exhausts wash the tips both inside and out. I might need to do this several times with the brush.
